Perron Rigot’s top of the range Parisian strip and non strip waxes are more comfortable alternatives to regular waxes.

The Strip wax is used for larger areas. It is ideal if you have sensitive skin. The consistency of this wax is runny, so it is applied very thinly. This helps to achieve an effective waxing treatment.

The Non Strip Wax (or hard wax) is used for delicate areas like eyebrows, underarms, bikini and for all Brazilian waxing mentioned below. Your eye brows will not feel and look as sensitive when non strip wax is used to reshape them.

Non strip wax has a honey like consistency when applied; it hardens but is flexible enough to be removed from the area.

Non strip wax does not stick to your skin. Instead, it shrink wraps the hairs, so they are removed from the root. Hair breakage is very minimal. It also helps to reduce any chances of ingrown hairs. Please note that some people are prone to ingrown hairs. A good home care routine between your waxing routine would help to avoid ingrown hairs and spots. Professional tea tree based after care products are available to purchase.

Hair re-growth after waxing is finer and sparser and won’t be as strong as when you shave! Everytime you shave, you are damaging your skin. For some ethnic groups, the shaved skin becomes pigmented and looks darker than some areas. Try waxing, don't shave!

Before you wax

  • Please tell me if you have any allergies, skin disorders, diabetic or on medication that might affect your skin.
  • You must not use a sun bed, sauna or any other heat treatments in the 24 hours before you have a wax treatment.
  • Treatments work best if you are freshly showered – without body creams or deodorants.

After you wax

  • For 24 hours after you've been waxed, avoid sun, deodorant, very hot showers or baths, chlorinated pools, spas and saunas as these will irritate your skin.
  • Avoid touching the area too much.
  • Dry brushing is great as it helps the hairs grow through. It avoids ingrown hairs and spots. Buy a back brush; when it is bone dry, firmly brush over the area that was waxed at least twice a week.
  • Keep your skin moisturised.
  • If any spots or rashes persist for more than a week, or become infected, you should see your GP.
